MARINA BAY SANDS
MBS Singapore was founded by the Las Vegas Sands company in 2006. It is the first Integrated Resort in Singapore, and endorsed by the Singapore government to further Singapore’s economy.
MBS wanted to achieve the ‘Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design’ (LEED) Platinum Standard. In order to do so, they needed to calculate their carbon footprint and then use suitable carbon credits to offset those emissions. These sources would be part of their Scope 2 Emissions such as electricity, hot water, chilled water production, and natural gas.
MBS chose CRX based on our track record and drive to purchase Carbon Credits from as many international sources as possible. These projects were Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs), or Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) purchased from overseas projects, and preferably through a Singaporean company. We ensure clients are offered a wide range of diversity of credits from high-quality projects.
MBS perform offsetting as part of their corporate social strategy and would need to meet their emissions balances year on year, for which we remain a dedicated partner.
